Poison Ivy Products to Subdue and Eliminate Itching
Getting poison ivy is quite the unpleasant experience. However, if you have gotten it, do not despair just yet. You have some options for dealing with it, as there are many poison ivy products out there that can offer you comfort and relief.
If you have just recently been exposed to poison ivy, and you have not gotten any symptoms yet, you may want to try washing the oil off your skin with soap or a cleanser specifically for poison ivy. Ivarest is a brand that makes a cleansing foam to wash the oils off to prevent and/or subdue an outbreak.
If it is too late and the oils have already bonded to your skin, you may want to try Zanfel, a product that is said to wash away the oils after they have bonded to your skin. That means that even if you already have an outbreak, your skin will begin healing from the allergic reaction immediately. The makers of Zanfel say you will feel relief after about thirty seconds. Many people on various websites have confirmed that Zanfel works both effectively and efficiently. If it is starting to sound too good to be true, here is the bad part: it can cost upwards of $30 for a one ounce tube.
If you are not looking to spend that kind of money, you can always buy anti-itch creams, such as Rhuli Gel or Calamine Lotion. Look for something with hydrocortisone in it, which is a well known itch relief ingredient. If you want something natural, Burt’s Bees makes a poison ivy soap that uses the Jewelweed plant, as well as pine tar, to help decrease the itching.
So do not let your poison ivy outbreak get you down. Try Zanfel or another anti-itch product and you will not have to spend every moment of your day suffering from itchiness and pain.
